Hi there, my name is Andrea Hanley, but you can call me Andy for short. I'm 21, studying Journalism and Political Science at UMass Amherst, play a few instruments, hike any time I can, and also participate in creating visual art pieces - but they're not always that good.

I'm originally from Auburn and Worcester, Massachusettes, but right now I'm living in Amherst until I graduate in 2020, but indefinitely until further notice (let's not get ahead of ourselves here).

I currently supervise and bartender at Ginger Garden, and have held a number of jobs in the foodservice industry that you can read about in my blog.

 

When I *actually* grow up, I hope to start my own publication of Gonzo journalism, a style of journalism invented by my personal hero, Hunter S. Thompson.

Everything in this blog is a true story based upon fact and personal experience. All of the posts are the culmination of a semesters' worth of work and beyond for a Food Writing class at  UMass taught by Carol Connare.
